Jaime Bishop is one of the most exciting emerging talents on the natural bodybuilding scene. Having blistered the competition in his second season, he is the current DFAC (drug free athletes coalition) Men’s open lightweight World number 1 and BNBF (British natural bodybuilding federation) Men’s open lightweight British number 1.
Sport has played an important part in Jaime's life from an early age. After joining his local rugby and athletics clubs at the age of seven, it soon became clear that he had natural talent and ability. Through his teens, Jaime progressed to county level until, at 16, a serious injury unfortunately cut short what was expected to be a promising career.
Seeking a new challenge, Jaime's attention moved to weight training, and his focus switched to sculpting his physique. He began researching the importance of nutrition and training technique in order to maximise his results.
In 2012 Jaime became a member of the Multipower Sports Nutrition sales team. Working full-time within the fitness industry only fuelled his drive and commitment to his training. Over the next 12 months, Jaime set his sights squarely on natural bodybuilding, and in 2013 he started competing.
In his first show, he took the BNBF Southern men’s open lightweight title, along with best wheels and presentation. He was consequently invited to the British finals in Manchester where he placed a close second to achieve the ultimate honour - representing Team GB at the 2013 DFAC World Finals where he placed second in his weight class.
Jaime came back to the stage in 2014 hungry to go one better. With a more complete and detailed physique he proved to be the best in the country winning his first British tittle at the Echo arena in Liverpool. This meant another trip to the USA for the DFAC World finals in Miami where he made history by becoming the first British lightweight bodybuilder to hold both National and World amateur titles in just 2 years of competing.
Jaime is working hard in 2015, taking a year out to make solid improvements to his physique. His ambitions for the future are to retain his British crown and push for an overall title to win a DFAC pro card in 2016.
