At the age of 10, Aidan was diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes, arguably the reason for his interest in nutrition from such a young age. Not wanting to let Diabetes hinder his sporting capabilities, he confronted the condition head on and got to grips with it through research, nutrition courses, and first hand experiences.
Sport was always a cornerstone in Aidan’s childhood; he began playing rugby at the tender age of 4, and progressed to play at a high level until the age of 19 where an injury meant time off to recover was his only option; this lead to his bodybuilding being taken much more seriously, both to occupy his time, and to help his injury improve. Aidan competed for the first time in the UKBFF Tyne and Wear qualifier in June 2015 where he took first place, qualifying for the British championships in October 2015 where he also took 1st place.
Since these achievements, Aidan has gone onto shoot nationally and internationally and feature in various publications which has subsequently boosted his social media profiles massively; he aims to inspire other young competitors, fitness enthusiasts, and type 1 diabetics alike as he feels both inspiration from others, and wanting to prove people wrong, were the main reasons he entered the fitness industry.
In 2017, Aidan launched his YouTube channel and plans to release an e-book. The e-book will give an insight on how Aidan preps for photo-shoots and competitions, including workouts. Aidan will give tips to people entering the competing scene, the fitness industry, and for people living with type 1 Diabetes.
